Anoush Rahnarvardkar (1924–1983) was an Iranian painter whose work spanned figurative subjects and abstraction. Born in Tehran into a Persian family of artists, he attended the city’s art academy before emigrating to the United States in 1964, where he exhibited in several cities. He later worked in Munich.

Known professionally as Anoush, he developed a personal approach to color and form, moving between recognizable subjects and expressive abstract compositions. His work explored portraits, mothers and children, and everyday life alongside paintings in which organic forms dissolved into increasingly independent arrangements of color.

An artist biography describes his palette as varied and intense, with a flame-like energy. Across these approaches, his paintings explored sensitivity, human connection, and a sense of familiarity and belonging.
