Ferjo, born Fernando de Jesus Oliveira in Bahia, Brazil, in 1946, is a contemporary surrealist painter celebrated for dreamlike interiors, vivid color, and a masterful command of perspective. He studied landscape and portraiture at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts from 1974 to 1979, developing the technical foundation that supports his imaginative compositions.

His paintings bring Realism, Surrealism, Cubist influence, and art-historical reference into carefully constructed visual worlds. Familiar objects—including pencils, bubbles, fish, strawberries, and broken eggshells—recur as personal symbols, disrupting ordinary scale and space. References to artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Vermeer, Van Gogh, Picasso, Dalí, Monet, Matisse, Miró, Chagall, and Bosch invite a dialogue with art history while remaining unmistakably Ferjo.

Collectors value his work for its precision, visual wit, layered references, and sense of discovery. Art R us offers select original paintings for collectors seeking Brazilian contemporary surrealism with technical distinction and a richly imaginative point of view.
